Twice a year the Reno Gem & Mineral Society puts on three days of handmade work. Jewelry cut from Nevada stone. Art glass, fossils, crystals, photography, woodcraft. All of it made by people who live here.
Every piece started as something somebody went out and found. Ask how they made it. They will tell you, at length, and that is the best part.

Handmade gifts, local makers, and a whole lot of Nevada stone. Here’s what to know before you come.
Where do I park?
Right outside. Reno Town Mall has plenty of free parking and one main entrance, so you can’t miss us.
Should I bring cash?
Yes. Many of our vendors are small, independent makers, and not every one of them takes cards. Bring cash so you can buy from anyone.
Should I look around first and come back?
We’d say no. Everything here is handmade and most pieces are one of a kind. If something speaks to you, grab it. It will probably speak to someone else too.
How long should I plan to stay?
Give yourself a few hours. Our makers love what they do, and most of them are happy to tell you where a stone was found or how a piece was made. Those conversations are half the fun.
Is there food or coffee?
Yes, inside the mall. The Cup Cafe serves breakfast and lunch until 2:00 PM every day. Lighthouse Coffee is open Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM but closed on weekends.
Can I bring my kids?
Of course. Kids can try rock and mineral activities and spin the Wheel of Fortune, where every spin wins a prize. Spins are $1 each, or 6 for $5.
Can I learn more about the Reno Gem & Mineral Society?
Yes! Stop by the RGMS table to learn about Junior Rockhounds, field trips, classes, and how to become a member. If you’ve ever wanted to find, cut, or polish your own stones, this is a great place to start.
Is the festival wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The mall has some steps, but there are ramps for wheelchair access.
Can I bring my dog?
No pets, please. Service dogs are always welcome.
